Miss Manners Rants and Raves

Manners and etiquette. Don't you sometimes wonder what has happened to them? Where they have gone? When did it become okay to expose all your natural inclinations and bodily functions to everyone, sometimes right off the bat? Well, I have been giving this some thought...obviously. Ladies and gentlemen, how lovely and attractive good manners are, and how sweet it is having illusions of perfection about someone. Nothing wrong with believing the object of our affection is a star. I believe in mystery and always retaining some (never, ever reveal all of yourself). There are just some things that are off limits and should remain un-shared. Come on, we are all adults here, you know its true. Sometimes, we girls can be slayed by a gentleman opening the door for us.

OK, I finally get that you are on your high horse. I just happen to have high levels of testosterone in my house. . . probably toxic levels. It seems that bodily function talk is followed by gales of laughter. Only topped off if it is punctuated by a . . . bodily function. And I am not talking about sneezing.!?!?

Please & Thank You...2 very powerful words:) (An occasional "sorry" is ood too) BTW, we just came back from New Zealand and people are very polite there...even the street signs say please and thank you!

If civility is the fabric of an enlightened society, than surely good manners are the thread.
But what the hell do I know. I´m in a botenero drinking tequila from a womans naval.

Was it that easy. Opening a door, I mean an account with Google? But yes manners and respect for each other is paramount for proper living and being.

I always open the door, but have never felt I have slayed. Women have a great propensity of saying to others that a door-opener is a real catch (almost as good as a man who has a job or doesn't smoke or chew), however, trust me...a friendly look in the eye, a smile, and a soft "thank you", might open more doors.

I come from a European dissent, and in Europe, library's of books have been written about bodily fuctions and their workings. All I can say is... gas happens... now, how one handles it is a completely different ballgame... and does make for some great laughs!! Of course timing and using discretion is of the utmost consideration for all parties potentially involed. Ahh the 'ol methane gas... we boys all know it lights up... has anyone been able to harness this stuff? If we could... maybe we could save the world! Ahhhahaha Well there I go again! :)

Well, all I can say is that there have been a man or two, that has opened my door, so to speak, that have actually told me .... "It's not healthy for you to hold it in." Literally,.... what kind of crap is that? Really? Not healthy? Like eating too much salt????.....not having a colonoscopy???....Eating, well, chicken and beef "SPAM" stuff with eggs??? (someone told me that it tastes great with eggs)..And what is the deal with eating MORE FRESH fruits and vegitables????? Well, who on earth is a girl to believe and trust? It's all so confusing... what is healthy, what is not... certainly not THAT guy who wears the shirt.. "I think therefore I SPAM". Thank goodness Dr. Oz is about to show us what the Hokey Pokey is all about.

I must agree with Appalachian Muse -

In my morning commute to work I often have gentlemen hold doors, open doors, and save elevators for me. The sad part is the shock on their face when I say thank you and wish them a pleasant day.

As to bodily functions, I AM a realist but there is a time and place. This blog, (for me) is neither.
